Case study

torbe.hr: a new online store, technical SEO and content.

torbe.hr sells bags made to fit car boots and roof boxes, with a catalogue of about 1,700 products. We built a new store on a custom theme with card payments, put the catalogue’s technical SEO in order and started regular content publishing. The new store has been live since 20 October 2026, and the project continues.

Client and challenge

A seasonal store with a large catalogue.

The client sells KJUST bags for car boots and roof boxes: sets for cars, sets for roof boxes and individual bags. Sales peak before holidays and travel, so the new store had to be ready before the season.

The old store ran on a generic template, was hard to read and did not accept card payments. The client asked for larger text, clearer boot and roof box icons and consistent Croatian terminology. The catalogue, with thousands of vehicle and roof box combinations, had duplicate pages, categories sharing one address and image descriptions that were not in Croatian.

What we did

From the new theme to weekly reports.

01

New store

A custom WooCommerce theme instead of a generic template, first on a staging site and live from 20 October 2026, with the client’s approval. Card payments were verified with a real test payment that was then refunded. Old code and seven unnecessary plugins were switched off during the move, with a prepared rollback.

02

Technical SEO for the catalogue

HTTPS and 301 redirects, product structured data with shipping and returns, and titles and descriptions for products and categories. 992 duplicate category pages got a canonical tag, and 51 categories that shared an address, so shoppers could see bags for another vehicle, were fixed with 52 redirects. 16,592 images got Croatian alt text, and all 3,365 sitemap addresses were crawled and the findings fixed.

03

Content

28 new texts in the first two weeks (13 categories, 14 articles, 1 product), at most two a day, with automated publishing. Existing descriptions were cleaned up on more than 1,000 products.

04

Speed

Images in descriptions went from 35 MB to 5.2 MB, and JavaScript on product pages from 610 KB to 98 KB.

05

Analytics and privacy

Google Analytics 4 on the client’s own account with purchase tracking, and a cookie notice. The advertising pixel loads only after consent.

06

Security and maintenance

Fake addresses that made up 18% of all requests in October are rejected before they load the store. Plugin updates run with a backup, the source of about 78,700 log warnings was removed, backups go to a separate server, and automatic checks run after every change, including the basket and checkout. The client gets a weekly report.

07

Link building

From January to May 2026: 14 articles on 13 Croatian travel, motoring and roof box sites, linking to torbe.hr. All 14 were live when checked on 26 October 2026.

Results

What can be measured now.

  • Mobile loading (LCP, first visit): homepage 1.7 s, category 1.1 s, product 1.0 s, article 1.2 s. Layout shift (CLS) is 0.
  • A clean catalogue: no duplicate addresses and no categories leading to the wrong vehicle.
  • Card payments, with the basket and checkout checked automatically after every change.
  • Less load: fake requests no longer reach the store.

Search Console and Analytics are monitored for three months after launch, and the weekly reports compare each week with the one before.

In progress

The agreed plan continues.

  • Content to the full scope: categories are done (13 of the agreed 10), articles are at 14 of 15, and 20 product descriptions (1 done) and 2 landing pages are still to go.
  • 5 new links from relevant sites.
  • Three months of Search Console and Analytics monitoring, with weekly reports.

Services used: website development, SEO, link building and WordPress maintenance.
