Croatian web index
Web index: how fast and secure Croatian websites are
Every month we measure the home pages of more than 4,300 Croatian websites in 17 sectors, from cities, municipalities and ministries to shops, hotels and news sites. Five areas, a public method and Google’s data. Latest edition: November 2026.

Fast, but poorly protected.
- 77% of sites with enough traffic pass Core Web Vitals, Google’s mobile speed test for real visitors. The best sector is Primary schools (98%), the weakest news media (58%).
- 88% of sites have no HSTS, the header that tells browsers to open the site over HTTPS only, and 93% have no enforced CSP. The best sector is Banks and insurers, where 57% of sites use HSTS.
- 39% of sites load tracking or advertising tools before the visitor clicks anything. In the news media sector it is 82%.
- 46% of domains have no DMARC, so receiving mail servers get no instruction about fake messages sent in the domain’s name. Only 16% have a strict policy (quarantine or reject).
